Consultation

Thank you to everyone who participated in the most recent round of consultation, which concluded on 13 March 2022. Should you have been unable to take part in this round of consultation, there will be further future opportunities to get involved.

BIMBY

BIMBY stands for ‘Beauty in my Back Yard’. It is the toolkit designed and delivered by the Prince’s Foundation which enables communities, organisations, and local authorities to develop a manual which sets out development principles for a local area.

The focus is on facilitating a process which allows the technical team to quickly learn about an area from the people who live there and empower local communities to make a real and genuine contribution to the planning and design process.

BIMBY helps to build trust by allowing people to see their ideas and concerns emerging through the process. By setting out an approach which is transparent and which people can see is fair, it has a greater chance of being respected and supported.

Have your say

Our most recent stage of consultation concluded on 13 March 2022. Thank you for taking part in our consultation exercises which will help the Council understand what is valued locally and where there is need for improvement, thereby enabling the Council to prepare a Local Plan that best serves the local community.

Following the close of the Your Place, Your Voice consultation, a report will be collated of the engagement undertaken and the feedback received. Thurrock Council will publish this when available.

Thurrock Council intends to consult residents as part of an in person consultation ‘roadshow’ later in 2022, to discuss potential opportunities for growth and investment.  Further details of these events will be announced closer to the time.

Should you have any questions or comments to make in the meantime, please contact info@thurrockyourplaceyourvoice.co.uk.
